My knowledge of the breed has come through my dear friends Ekaterina & Thomas, owners of MultiCh. Reedly Road Enjoy The Silence aka Farik, sire of my beloved Sawhorse's Hot As Hell aka Varenne who is a powerful but elegant dog, energetic and intelligent ... with a marvellous temperament. He is always cheerful and playful with dogs and people also just met. An independent dog, but very affectionate.
Great leaper and always on the go... we call him "court jester" because of his great sympathy at every opportunity.

The arrival of my first Pharaoh requested a lot of patience. I got news from Ekaterina telling that in a litter in Finland there would be my puppy. I was so excited! She put me in touch with the breeder, Sara, who was enthusiastic about the possibility that her beloved puppy would have lived in Italy.

Four long endless months !!

Sara decided to come to Italy to bring Varenne (his petname is because of the "union of Italy & Finland" of the most famous trotter). They arrived at the airport in Milan. My legs began to shake so much that I had to sit down. It is really impossible to describe the immense emotions when she picked out from the cage "that red ball with those enormous ears"!

He began sniffing  my eyes, mouth, ears with his long nose... he did a study on me and then gave me a kiss as saying: "Ok, I am fine, let's go!! "

Thus began my new adventure with a Pharaoh Hound. I soon realized that, with him, the days are always different from each other. Varenne is an excellent representative of the breed... a great life partner, easy to learn, lightweight manner, elegant, precious and yes, even a little '"mysterious" just like a real Pharaon!
